When I was a little girl, if you had asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have eagerly replied, “a doctor.” I quickly noticed how much that answer delighted those around me. But as I began my college journey, I discovered my true calling: a profound love for children and a deep intolerance for any injustice toward them.

At twenty-three, I married my best friend, and together we welcomed three beautiful children into our lives. It was within the delicate balance of motherhood and working with children that I realized I was meant for this. That revelation completely transformed the course of my life. In that moment, I understood the purpose behind the trauma, obstacles, and setbacks I had faced as a child. My faith was reignited, and I’ve never looked back.

That was only the beginning. I returned to college to earn a degree in Behavioral Science, along with certifications in emotional intelligence and child advocacy. Loving children wasn’t enough; I wanted to truly understand them.

Today, I live with purpose, nurturing resilient and confident young girls. My name is Shea, and this is who I am.

This blog was born from the experiences of a young girl growing up in Brooklyn and is now shaped by a mother of three daughters and a son who is deeply committed to teaching them the power of self-love. It’s driven by a belief from the heart of God that, even after trauma, beauty can emerge from the ashes.
